Literature Text

A diplomat meets with the Council of Haat.

The mechanical suit hissed and clanked as it continued on its path. Everything that could be thought of had been tried to divert it- and all had failed. Swords, pickaxes, wolves, cats, carefully directed creepers, even (on Aleph's advice) enough TNT to launch a man into the Aether- all had failed. The mech simply continued on its inexorable path, over mountain and valley, desert and snow.

It looked like nothing that the scouts had ever seen; four or five blocks high and full of metal cogs and gears, which could be seen at its joints and through the plates of what looked like glossy green glass which covered it. While it was humanoid, and probably contained a pilot, little else could be determined about this anomaly. It marched in a straight line, directly towards Haat, where the Council of Haat resided.

The Council members, Maximilian, Trottimus and Aleph, even when they were warned nothing could stop the mech, simply smiled and informed the guards that they would not be moved. It was as if they were expecting it. Even Trottimus, normally the voice of reason, insisted that no-one be evacuated from the area.

It took the mech three days and nights to reach the city of Haat. At dawn on the fourth day, it emerged from the waves outside the open gates of the fortress. It strode through the iron doors, to the awe of the crowd that had gathered to watch it. Though the crowd were mostly Humans and various closely related species, the Dwarves were present, as were the Testificates, and even a few Pigmen. It continued into the main hall where the Council members waited. Torches had been lit, because Aleph insisted on all windows being thoroughly covered.

In front of the gathering, a previously hidden panel on the suit opened. To the horror of all but the Council, who remained quite calm, a horrific creature emerged. It was far taller than any of the assembled species, with skin of purest black, glowing with energies not unlike those of a Nether Portal. It was an Enderman.

"Council of Haat," it hissed, "I am Voormitha. I bring greetings from the Grand Exile, Ktep-Sathlei. Your kind may look at me freely; the curse has been lifted from me, although at great cost." Its voice was uncomfortable to listen to, crackling and sizzling like redstone current.

"And we greet him, messenger," Maximilian stated rather brusquely. "Tell us, what does your master want?"

The eldritch abomination looked annoyed, although it was difficult to tell the emotions of a creature that had no facial features other than eyes. "I bring with me another servant of Notch. Perhaps you will show him greater courtesy."

There was a tremendous flash of light, and electricity crackled in the air. When the Council were able to see again, they beheld a towering silver figure who shone with light. It floated a full three blocks off the stone brick floor, and wore enchanted iron armour.

"This is Jordan, who is better known to your kind as Captain Sparklez, Herald of Notch." The Council and the assembled crowd gasped in shock. The shining figure inclined its head politely.

"You may have heard of me. I'm rather famous in these parts, or so I'm told."

"We would like to propose an alliance..."

Codex Entry 1: Endermen

The Endermen are a bizarre extradimensional race with no known relation to any other species. They built a great civilisation in their native dimension, the End, before it was burnt to the ground by the Enderdragon. The Endermen had reached the consensus that Heorbrine was a monster who should be stopped from creating more worlds like the Nether. To this end, they alerted Notch to his brother's presence. Their war has lasted eons, and the Endermen attempted to send armies to aid Notch. They attracted Herobrine's attention and he unleashed his forces against them. Contact with the End was lost, and only a small number of Endermen managed to escape to the Overworld.

The Endermen possess the ability to teleport, and are generally stronger and faster than other species due to their mechanical augmentations. They stand three metres tall and have scaled black skin. They survived for many years as scavengers and thieves, before they unearthed one of their greatest leaders in a experimental stasis device. This man, Ktep-Sathlei, has organised the Endermen from scattered packs into a new society, and is currently trying to secure alliances with the other races.
So, yeah, this is the first story in the gigantic Minecraft Universe I've come up with. It introduces the Council of Haat, entirely based on the wonderful people of H.A.T. Films (www.youtube.com/user/HaatFilms…. The spelling of the name tends to vary, so I've gone with the one that best seems to fit a fantasy universe. (Also, the one that TvTropes uses. I trust them.) The same goes for their individual names:
djh3max became Maximilian
Trottimus became... well, Trottimus. It fits in fairly well.
Alsmiffy became Aleph
CaptainSparklez (aka Jordan Maron) also makes an appearance. He is similarly awesome.

Now containing the first of my Mass Effect-inspired Codex Entries! These will tell the reader a fair bit more about the history of the universe I'm creating.
